Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Green Credit Score (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our website and application (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Identity & account information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, mailing address, and Social Security Number. This information is required to create your account, verify your identity, and retrieve your credit data from consumer reporting agencies.

Credit information

Once your identity is verified, we retrieve credit scores, credit report data, and related information about you from a third-party consumer credit data provider and display it to you through the Service.

Payment information

Subscription payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We receive limited billing metadata (such as subscription status and the last four digits of your card) but we never receive or store your full card number.

Usage & device information

We and our analytics providers automatically collect information about how you use the Service, such as pages visited, general device/browser information, and approximate location derived from your IP address, using privacy-preserving analytics tools and, where enabled, Google Analytics (which may use cookies).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • to create and administer your account and provide the Service;
  • to verify your identity and retrieve your credit data from consumer reporting agencies;
  • to detect and prevent fraud, including reuse of a free trial by the same individual under a different email address — for this purpose we derive a one-way cryptographic fingerprint from your identity information, which cannot be reversed back into your raw Social Security Number;
  • to process payments and manage your subscription;
  • to send you service, billing, and security-related communications;
  • to maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
  • to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf, including our authentication provider, database/hosting provider, payment processor, consumer credit data provider, and analytics providers — each solely to help operate the Service;
  • Legal & safety — where required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or the public;
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or a successor policy.

4. Data Security

Your Social Security Number is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and is only accessible to backend systems that require it to perform a specific, limited function; only the last four digits are ever displayed to you or stored in a readable form. We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Certain identity-fingerprint data (see Section 2) may be retained after account closure solely to prevent repeat trial abuse; this retained data cannot be used to identify you or reconstruct your Social Security Number.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can update most of your account information directly from your account settings, or request assistance through our Contact page. We will respond to verifiable requests in accordance with applicable law. Please note that some information (such as records required for legal or billing compliance) may need to be retained even after a deletion request.

7. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. Where enabled, Google Analytics may set cookies to measure site usage; you can control cookies through your browser settings. Our default analytics provider is designed to operate without persistent cookies.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can delete it.

9. United States Only

The Service is intended for use by residents of the United States and relies on U.S. consumer credit reporting infrastructure. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by other reasonable means. The “Last updated” date above indicates when this Policy was last revised.
